The Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are going head to head battling for consumer’s attention. The Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have their similarities and their differences and the purpose of this essay is to discuss those similarities and differences. The importance of discussing the two consoles differences is to show which one a gamer might buy. In this essay the points of comparison will be the design, features, and the exclusive games each console has. The first topic up for comparison will be the design and look of each console. The color of each console is the same as both of them sport a slick black color scheme, however that’s where the similarities end. The Xbox One has a snap feature which allows the gamer to play a game and watch YouTube, TV, Twitch or Skype at the same time they are playing a game. The PS4 does not this app, however the PS4 allows gamers to have multiple applications running without having to close them out. The PlayStation 4 has a streaming game service called PlayStation Now. This feature allows consumers to stream some of their favorite games from the last generation and play them on their PlayStation 4. Both consoles feature a subscription service which allows the gamer to play online, get extra deals on games, get free games each month, and gain access to content non-subscribers cannot gain access to. The PS4 features a much more elaborate controller than the Xbox One has. The controller on the PS4 features a built in speaker which some games utilize to have sound effects or voices come through, and the controller also features a touch pad which allows gamers to perform on screen actions with a controller an Xbox One cannot. The Xbox One however has a motion device called Kinect which comes with the $500 console. The Kinect allows gamer to perform motions with their hands in games, or to scroll through apps, and the Kinect also has voice commands which allow you to turn on your Xbox without ever pressing a button. Both console also come with a built-in Blu-Ray Player allowing the consumer to not have to separately purchase a Blu-Ray
