“Touch Me” is a book that was set in the 1990s in Queensland. The two main character Xavier and Nuala are two year 12 students heading into their last semester of their high school careers.
Xavier McLachlan is in his final year of high school and now is the chance for him to achieve his dream of “the first XV jersey and the premiership”- the most important thing of his life. For him winning is everything that matter, every win is a good win. Xavier was always one of the bests in the earlier years, but now he finds his abilities questioned and his place in the first XV is under threat. After a long time of consideration, Xavier allows Nuala to attend his formal in a suit. This action makes his mates question him and their relationship starts to deteriorate. But Alex, a friend that he has become especially close to only this term, hasn’t question his action.
