The man wailed again. “No. Please. I’ll do anything you want. Please. Stop!”
Jewel folded her arms. “Maybe we should kill him.”
Little Sis was quick to jump to euthanasia. “Why?” Xander asked.
Tears pooled in Jewel’s eyes, but she quickly wiped them away. “Because he’s going to die anyway, and it will be a horrible death. At least you saved him from being eaten alive.”

Praise from Ti always felt good. Xander's pale skin burned in the sun if he wasn’t careful. Ti's skin was his complete opposite and yet Xander knew Ti as father. Just as he knew this seventy-year-old in a child’s frame was his Little Sis, though if waking days equated birthdays, he was a toddler and she was an old maid. She sure acted like a twelve-year-old brat though.
