One day, I read a story about Wynton Marsalis. As I read, I couldn’t help thinking about how I became exceptional at drawing. I was raised in Richmond, BC in 2004. As a young girl, I had a passion for drawing. Like Wynton, I took dancing lessons, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. So, I turned to working on my drawing skills at the age of five. At first, I actually thought I was excellent at drawing until I saw my classmate’s drawings in school. As I compared their drawings to mine, I couldn’t help feeling ashamed of myself. “This is how good I draw?” I thought to myself. I was infuriated at how abominable my drawings were.
