World War I: A time during which all of humanity was in panic. Men were fighting, people were dying, and food was scant. Imperialism had caused tension between almost every nation, which sent the armies running for their weapons. However, The United States originally tried to stay out of the conflict and remain neutral. That is, until 1917 when America declared war on Germany. There are many reasons why the U.S decided to detour from their original plans of neutrality, but there are two that stick out from the rest.
