Wrong Perception About Hookah

These findings highlight further research on the long-term health impact and scope of craving for hookah for regular users and easy to quitting. The research showed a clear correlation between the remarkable increase of hookah and wrong perception about hookah such as its being less harmful and more glorious in the college students, especially young population. In order to achieve success reduction and prevention of hookah user, we should focus on the wrong perception about hookah and struggling against brainwashing through advertisements. Educational institutions should educate about the hazardous health effect of hookah. Awareness should be raised about the dangerous effect of hookah by spreading widely through newspaper, leaflet and poster to mention a few. Since majority of ESOL students originates from the region where hookah is considered as socially acceptable, health education programmes about hookah is potentially needed along with ESOL classes. Furthermore, revision of the collage policy is needed in order to integrate hookah smoking within the government policies. A review of tobacco policies should include and regulate hookah smoking. Although the 2007 UK policy includes hookah the free-low policies in public premises, it should work on the same way as tobacco control polices in cigarette smoking, including- labelling the …show more content…
Providing smoking quit service is also needed for hookah and other tobacco products smokers. Public health campaigns should educate and disseminate about the dangerous effects of hookah. Health policy initiatives should be formulated to prevented market and licensing of hookah equipment and hookah tobacco products in local market.
