Upon arrival to the coronation dinner of King Macbeth and Queen Lady Macbeth.
I notice Macbeth is dressed in blue, giving me the feeling of royalty and power. Expensive accessories finalize his outfit showing off his wealth. As the dinner begins Macbeth goes to take his seat at the head of the royal table. But, he seems to be acting strange and is speaking to his chair. We are assured by Lady Macbeth that he has occasional visions and that we should just ignore his irrational behavior. Lady Macbeth has something unsettling about the way she is speaking, I do find it strange and hard to ignore but I do not show suspicion, especially around the King and Queen. Lady Macbeth appears to be happy and is dressed in a beautiful lavish blue gown. She is wearing luxurious amounts of jewelry. Lady Macbeth assures this is nothing but a strange habit but by her tone I could tell there is definitely something she is keeping from us. A strange night it has been so far, the King appears to be insane or is becoming insane, and Banquo hasn’t shown up to dinner yet. At this point I try to not focus on the king’s behavior and just get through dinner. Surely something is off with a King who is mysteriously talking to a figure he is seeing. As we continue feasting on the feeling of the room has gone from excited to uncomfortable, hardly able to keep small talk. The rest of the men are exchanging spurts of quiet small talk about the Kings mysterious behavior. Suddenly we are able to understand what is going on, Macbeth has been talking to what we can now confirm is a ghost. Certainly he has lost his mind, unable to comprehend what we have learned, all we do is stare at his pale white face now filled with fear from the hallucination he is speaking to.
