Writing occurs and affects each and every one of us hundreds of times every day, whether we like it or not. It is essential to our being and has many possibilities that can come from it. What is writing? What does it mean to me? Those two questions have endless answers, all unique from one another. Writing is a way of life and I have came to appreciate it as the years go by. It is how we communicate, but not only that it sets us apart from one another. It shows our differences in personalities in the most subtle ways, whether we are humorous or sober. Every form of writing is vital to society and one 's being, without it both could not survive. Coming into my freshman year of college, my writing process I had developed previously was something like an aftermath of a tornado. There were rough drafts and revision thrown in here and there. Sometimes you would find peer editing, but there was never a true process put into place. To me, writing does not come easy and with every assignment I have been assigned, has come new writing rules and regulations. Every teacher I have had has expected something different from each piece of my writing. That is why I think I struggled with writing before this year, I never had a set way of going about it. Quickly that all changed, after the first inquiry I developed a process. I sat down and eventually came up with an idea centered around what the prompt was about.
