Reflective Essay On De English

Going into DE English I was quite intimidated. I was telling myself that I had nothing to worry about because I truly believed I was an above average writer. During my freshmen and sophomore years in high school I was enrolled in honors/advanced English classes. Junior year came and I took the next step to registering for the AP English 11 class. I passed this class with flying colors and decently scored on the AP test with a 3. I suppose deep down inside the intimidation was generated from the knowledge that DE English was a true college level course.

When reflecting on my essays throughout the year, I have found my strengths to include, broad vocabulary usage, sound grammatical skills, and strong structure and organization of the paper. Areas where I struggled throughout the 1st and 2nd semester include, backing up topic statements with more details, centralizing my thesis around the topic of the paper, and connecting with my audience in a more effective manner. I have written more essays in this class than many other of my classes combined. Practice makes perfect. I owe much gratitude to Mrs. Miller and classmates for the writer I am today. I plan on doing nothing more than improving still as time goes on. I want to thank Mrs. Miller and my classmates for taking the DE English adventure with
