Writing prompt: a recipe for an unimaginative essay. I wrote a good amount of essays in secondary school. I felt stuck when my teachers gave me writing prompts because they rarely aligned with my interests. I am a firm believer that humans are inclined to succeed when they do something they are interested in; usually writing prompts relate to some dull, mundane topic, which hinders ingenuity and excitement. If the author is not enthusiastic about his or her topic, the work is unsatisfactory. On the bright side, I found a loophole; I found a way to enjoy writing prompts.
