Writers Memo Finally, the end is near. We have approached the final assignment. I have been asked to provide my definition of good writing. Without a doubt good writing must captivate ones interest, good writing is anything that can grab ones attention and keep it. We all know about spelling, punctuation and grammar, but it simply has to be interesting. If it is not, then forget it. The paper I found easiest to write was the research paper. Although, an 1800 word paper can be challenging, I found it rather easy. There is an abundant amount of information on my chosen topic, it was a topic I personally find interesting and I discovered facts that I was not aware of regarding anxiety. What paper did I found most challenging? I found the literary analysis most challenging. Although, I enjoyed the story, I disliked the character. I fully …show more content…
Perhaps, I would focus a bit more on how to recognize anxiety symptoms or techniques one can practice in their daily routine to help avoid unnecessary anxiety. My biggest strength is my love for the craft of writing knowing that words have power and being able to put that power on paper, if for no other reason than my own pleasure. As a writer I could use improvement in all areas, probably one of my biggest weaknesses is I doubt myself and my abilities. Secondly, grammar is another weakness that needs great improvement. When I first learned I needed to take English classes I panicked! I started to think back on high school and how much I absolutely hated English class. I thought to myself I will never make it though this again. However, once I started it enjoyed it. Now that it’s over it’s a bittersweet feeling. This course has been rewarding, I have discovered I truly enjoy writing and will continue to practice and improve. I have zero criticism for this course. The instruction was easy to follow and help was always

As a student of the College in the Schools program, the class WRIT 1301 has provided me the opportunity to improve my writing and prepare me more effectively for college. During this semester course I worked with peers to improve not only my own writing, but also improved my analysis of peer works of similar structure. My first paper, a narrative titled Confessions of A Living Sin, was arguably the easiest piece to create, while simultaneously being the most difficult to write. Narrative pieces push writers to write of moments that are strong in emotion, and often times leave the writer vulnerable to whom is reading their work. For me, my vulnerability was discussing the ostracism I faced as a queer and transgender person in a conservative…

To be honest, writing this paper felt a little like writing an eulogy. I often found myself frustratedly typing extra hard on the keyboard telling myself that I will never write another paper and this is the last long paper I will write because I am not taking anymore English classes. Of course, I quickly overcame my laziness and kept writing because I want to be successful and a major key to success is to being able to write. The most challenging part of this paper was the outlines that were back to back every night. The week where we had to write and turn in our outlines for our paper, was a hard week for me so I never go to do the quality job on my outlines which of course affected my entire paper.…

Preparing for this exam I got to look through my old papers. I found my first paper (“Technology’s Advancements on Today’s Society”) that I had completely forgotten about and discovered that I had a problem with technology’s effects on humanity at the beginning of the year as well. The ideas had developed in my brain without me even realizing and I ended up writing my last paper “Nature vs. Technology: The Benefits of Unplugging”. I was thoroughly interested about this and discovered that writing about a topic that you are truly interested in makes the research and writing much easier.…

I’ve spent the day thinking to myself “what is good writing”? Admittingly, I struggled initially to write a paragraph on this. After gathering up my thoughts and the notes I have been making on my smartphone throughout the day, this is what I have come up with. I believe good writing starts with a subject that people want to read, a sort of “know your audience” if you will. Good writing should have a beginning, a middle, and an end.…

After receiving my grade and feedback I realized my sentences were choppy and not well put together. When I submitted my paper the second time not only did I receive a better grade but also a better understanding of what my papers should look like and what the content should include. I really enjoyed writing this paper, because it allowed me to write about something I have a passion for. I really enjoy writing narratives, but I believe the easiest and best paper I wrote in this class would be essay two. This is when we chose an advertisement and analyzed the details about it.…

Up until more recent years in my life I have no noticed my anxiety to be part of my life, and over the past few months I’ve become even more aware of just how present anxiety is in my everyday life. Through research it has become more evident of where my anxiety possibly started. Through research I have found the importance of resilience and its connection to anxiety. As a child I do not believe that I had the relationships and support around myself to be a resilient adolescent and adult. Becoming resilient is something that is becoming self-taught in my life rather than it being taught to me.…
