Reflective Essay: The Success Of My Writing

Out of all of the things I can do academically, writing is probably my most frustrating experiences in school. While writing has never been my strong trait throughout my life but without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Recently a few years ago, my most successful time when I was writing was writing a psychology research paper that connects the bystander effect to various scenarios of bullying. While creating this research paper, I had to combine all of my experiences and skills in order to put this paper together very well. Writing requires successes and failures at certain times, to help build the individual to become the writer that they are. In my earliest times of writing came when I was in kindergarten of elementary school. One of the required objectives was to create and prepare to present a poem every day during speech class. While I was relieved that we don’t have to write long papers, I wasn’t a very creative person who can write poems easily. To gain an understanding on how to create poems, I would often search throughout the internet for examples. At first, I would actually be lazy in creating poems and instead use my searched examples just get by for the day. Eventually, on the day to forget searching for a poem, I soon realized that my name was about to be called. Panicking, I had to create a poem immediately and thus had to be imaginative to think of one. When my name was called, I finally said, “Fearing mistakes will create mistakes, instead take risks to create solutions. Being complacent will just get you anywhere but up.” As the audience applauds and I soon became relieved of stress; I realized that I don’t need to have a reliance on things and I can be perfectly able to make my writings my
