My journey as a writer has been challenging but rather insightful. Personally, I have always been thrilled by English since it is the international business language and millions of people across the world speak it. Even though English is not my first language, I have always preferred mastering it over other subjects. I am still adapting and learning more about English but my experiences so far are totally worth sharing. I have journeyed through tough times setting achievable writing goals and trying so hard to fulfill them. As a writer who is still adapting to composition classroom, I still have so much to expectations and new grounds to conquer.
At the start of the class, my expectations were that I would delve deeper into composing proper sentences and lengthy ones. The choices were open and I had a lot of issues I could talk about. The project gave me the chance to choose one that I was really passionate about. With this in mind, I decided to focus my attention on the much debatable immigration laws and policies. I come from Saudi Arabia and being an immigrant in the United States, this was a good topic for me. I wanted learn why the United States has enforced very stringent immigration policies. One of my major goals in this first writing project was to uncover the thin line between terrorism and immigration. Of course, there was also the issue to refugees majorly Syria. It was shocking to learn the number of innocent refugees who have been locked out of America but stringent policies. Most of victims of the Syrian war are women and children and these innocent lot is patiently hoping that one day America is going to open its doors for
