Writing Class: Course Analysis

I have personally learned many things from this course. This course is one step up from the previous writing course I have completed and it shows in the requirements from the essays. I enjoyed the class discussions. To me though the most important thing I have learned would be to write my essays and have it proof read and improved as much as possible as well as the need for this when prompts are as open as they were here. This has been taught to us this class many times through many different methods. Peer reviewing, and opportunities to send in progress essays to Prof. San Juan as well as required and optional in person appointments to meet with a writing instructor at the writing center for a critique on the current status of the essay and to answer any questions one might have about the development of it. I have enjoyed the freeness of choice with the prompts. This is something I have not experienced in previous writing courses and that freeness yet guided theme has helped me write immensely. I do not do well when under extremely strict thought policing where I have to craft my essay to what the professor likes and their views but instead I was able to express my thoughts personally and in my own way but still …show more content…
For me personally, I think that method of class structure is the kind that works best, where we are working together to truly hone our talents, ideas and skills for the course instead of focusing on sucking in as much data as possible to just then be memorized, brain-dumped onto a final that is worth thirty-five percent of a final grade, and then forgotten about a week into winter break. I feel that the experiences I have gained from working on my essays and all that it entails has benefited my ability to write effectively and I feel more prepared for the next class than I did before taking this
