I drug myself home to my computer and I sat down to begin my long and depressing paper. I jumped right into this atrocious essay without even thinking about an outline or brainstorming. I finished and a smile formed on my face and I jumped around my room in a happy dance because I was finally done, except, the paper was only 2 pages long. I stared at my computer screen, after a few hours had passed, and the two pages that were complete before were detailed, without mistakes and enjoyable and the last two, ruined the whole paper. Instead of taking the time and rewriting and revising, like Donald Murray Proposes in his essay, “Internal Revision”, I jumped right into submitting my paper that was littered with mistakes. According to Donald Murray, students are not taught in schools today revise and go back and rewrite papers.
