I think of the mass identity as all the chaos in our life that we have no choice, but to deal with. Writing is a personal freedom that allows us to escape the chaos in our life and create a different reality for ourselves. It really is a personal freedom because you are creating the reality you want for yourself away from the chaos and no one else should influence that reality.
