After finishing this class I still love reading very much and I had been extremely happy to have been able to do a project on one of the books I had been reading. Offering flexible assignments like this made me enjoy the class all the more, especially when there were days just devoted to reading. And the articles we read had also been much more interesting than I would have originally thought. Not only did we read them, you had also told us to find some common grammar mistakes, annotate, and learn to find the most important parts of the reading. For the first essay, I had been so unsure on what is acceptable college work and ended up turning in something I was not proud of and even a little embarrassed. Though, now I feel like my writing has gotten much better and I know understand so much more then what I had in the beginning. I’ve learned about online libraries that are offered free for CMC students and they provide so much insight, ranging from how to cite sources, finding reliable articles, and also knowing what a credible source, and so much more. A few skills that I had picked up throughout the semester were asking for help, whether that was from a tutor, professor, or friend. Letting another person check if what you’re doing is correct will help in the long run, rather than turning in something that you simply wrote and didn’t bother double or even triple checking. Currently I think that I will pass English 121 but with a higher grade that I would have liked. It is my fault that I have C in there, there was so much I could have done to have improved that grade. But Professor Tal did give everyone a chance to rewrite and edit one of the essays that we had previously written. With this final essay, I want to show that I did learn and that I can write college essays, with the correct grammar along with it. I want to pass English 121 so that I can move onto English 122 and gain even more knowledge about writing
