How would one keep from from being subjective or bias is the main concern. Different people will consider one form of writing good while others may not. With that being said, how would one avoid bias’? There are many different ways to avoid bias’ , one of these ways is to include people with substantially opposite lives, opinions on the matter. I conducted a few interviews with some really intelligent but different people i’ve met in my years and simply asked them, “What is good writing to you?”. Now it may come as no surprise I got different answers from the different people. A girl I went to highschool with by the name of Claire said that “good writing has to captivate me, it also needs to make me think about something greater than myself or something that reflects on myself. I think good writing includes good sentence structure too. Excellent writers understand that detail and dialogue need to be authentic and real.” She recognizes good writing by the ability of the writer to be confident in their writing and writing something that is real and tells a story authentically.
With that being said, I must also explain what my idea of good writing is. “I think good writing is the ability to write down your thoughts with full intentions of making a reader read between the lines to understand what they’re reading. Good writing is hard to understand and serves a bigger purpose than for the writer to just get paid.
