The famous speech in Regensburg on September 12, 2006, created serious controversy at the time. The point of the speech was, the importance of reason in Christianity and in other religions not, as many people took it, about criticizing the religion of Islam. To understand this concept of faith in the speech, we must first understand what it is faith, and that reason, no matter which religion you belong is reflected in that faith.
The word faith derives from the Latin term "fides" and the word itself, allows naming that in what is believed by a person or a community. It also refers to a sense of certainty and positive concept we might have of an individual or of something. In our daily lives, the way we might use the worth faith could have different meanings.
