The tragic yet eye opening event that will be engraved into the back of many people's minds. September eleventh was not only an act of terror, but was a statement from the organizers, al-Qaeda. The setup was immense and followed about two and a half years of planning, however it all started with an idea from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (better known as KSM). At the beginning of fall, 1999 training for the event started for four of the suicide operators. By the end of the basic training camp in Afghanistan KSM taught three of the four men basic English phrases, along with training them to use the Internet, and encode communications. All while playing flight simulation computer games to help them when they would be flying in the air. Once the hijackers had been fully trained, sent to America, and stationed in the correct positions the work had completely gone underground. Mainly to inform, interestingly enough the report was unlike the thousands of others telling of the September eleventh event, the 9/11 Commission Report tells the reader about the plan, leading up to the event, and why. Each paragraph is filled with information to help expand the reader’s knowledge of 9/11 including who did the attacks, and also how the attacks were done. Starting at the beginning with a plan, the author goes through the steps in chronological order until the morning of the attacks when the hijackers were on the plane. Occasionally the author would give a question and answer it fully, but it was mainly chronological order. Also the word tone was normal, as it was a report or compiling from multiple confessions. Within the first paragraph it tells the reader, “according to KSM,” who was the mastermind of the attack, “The list included the White house, and the Pentagon..the U.S. Capitol; and the World Trade
