There are several kinds of roundworms which can lead to infections in humans. Their lengths usually vary a lot from 1 millimeter to 1 meter. Most of them are usually eggs and larvae which live in the soils. They usually get into the body through the hands when people touch them or through the mouth. Some of the roundworms also get into the body through the skin because of their small sizes but they usually grow big. The infection of the roundworms usually happens mostly in the warm tropical climates in most of the areas in the world. The most common roundworm in the human body is Ascaris and it affects a lot of people in the world. The nurses usually play a very important role in the eradication of roundworms in the body. The various tests which are carried out are done by the nurses who come up with several measures which they can use in order to diagnose the infection. Their role in diagnosis is very important because they assist in making the patients know about their condition early in advance. The nurses usually suspect the infections mostly when the people have been living in areas where the parasites are many (Søe, 2016). The diagnosis of roundworms can be done through carrying out physical exams to the patients who are suspected to be infected by the worms, carrying out a blood test in order to find out if the infections have gone into the blood, having ultrasounds in order to examine if the worms are in the lymph nodes, having urine and stool tests which helps in identifying the organism in the stool and the urine, having a biopsy of the skin and the muscles which assist in finding out if the infections have gone into the muscles or the skins of humans and also carrying out x-rays which help in the identification some of the large worms which might have found their way in the abdominal regions.
