This wonderful wordless book is about a young girl who uses a red crayon which she finds on her floor to escape from being ignored from her family. She first draws a door on her wall, and when she realizes she can open it, the rest is amazing. The little girl opens the door to an open forest filled with beautiful green tress, and lights. She sees a river flowing by, so with her red crayon, she draws herself s boat. As we follow her journey we see her draw a hotair balloon, and a flying carpet. The little girl is meeting new friends, but also enemies who want to keep her there. When she meets the bird’s creator, she discovers they have much in common. At the end of the story she meets a little boy who has a purple crayon.
