I already knew that I wanted to be a pipefitter before going into this project. So I didn’t have to search or look for a job that interest me. But after going to the website and seeing stuff that I didn’t know about the job made me more interest. Finding out that the 401k is good and also the benefits increased my interest in the job. Being able to learned more about the process of being a pipefitter helped me a lot with planning with my future. I’ve wanted to get into pipefitting at a young age because a lot of my family went straight into pipefitting because it paid good enough for them to have a comfortable life with a family. Including that there aren’t any debt when you come out was a huge benefit because most of my siblings went to college and how they owe $100,000+ just for the college, not including their bills for an apartment and living supplies. Thinking of being able to learn a subject then get a guarantee job without debt just seemed to be the smart choice. Ever since I was young I’ve looked up to my family. Whatever they did. I wanted to do. They drove nice cars had a nice house and a wife with kids. They seemed to have everything in their life under …show more content…
Luckily for me a caught him at the right time. He just got off right when i called him and he was driving home. He explained to me the job is very hard on your body. Lots of overtime, standing and moving around. He told me that he got into pipefitting mainly to make as much money as he can and invest. He is correctly 40 and plans on retiring 45. He said that he has enough money to live comfortably until around 97. He said “becoming a pipefitter was the smartest investment i’ve made, knowing that I don’t have much debt and a lot of money in my 401k makes me understand why my whole family joined it and confuses me why more people don’t go into it.” After talking to him a bit more he stated that he’s been able to live a very comfortable
