The Prophecy

Skarbak triumphantly ascended the rocks, raised his great horned head and roared. The sun glittered off his red and gold scales, blinding those below. He brandished the gleaming sword in his claws and rested its tip on a human skull.
“Who are you puny humans who seek to destroy us? We have always ruled this land and we always will. Send your best knights and bravest warriors, I will defeat them all. I am enraged at the death of my brother Sardok, and I will have my revenge. I will hunt his killer and litter the floor of my cave with human bones and weapons until he is dead. I would have the pleasure of eating him alive!”
Rumours of Vardok’s killer had Skarbak confused. The humans named him Cedrik the Dragonslayer and he had to

Skarbak bellowed his rage and burned two human villages, feasting on the dead. He called the dragon council together.
“Attack the humans! Burn their villages! Show no mercy until Cedrik is dead. Bring me the dragonslayer!”
The dragons paired up and flew across the land, burning villages as they went, until they came to a small castle covered in dragon scales. Dragon fire could not burn it, claws could not penetrate it. Cedrik must be here. They flew home to report to the council.
The council met and deliberated. “Send half of the dragon legion to this castle and lay siege. Let no one in or out. Kill humans who approach. No supplies must be allowed to enter the castle.”
Cedrik knew he had been found, but the castle was secure and well supplied. Underground tunnels spread through the countryside allowing him many avenues of escape. He could appear and disappear at will, confusing the dragons and making them angry, clouding their judgement.
Over many months dragons fell, one by one until their numbers dwindled. The remaining council members met and called a truce. Skarbak was sent to talk peace with Cedrik the dragonslayer. He both feared and reviled Cedrik because he knew he could not defeat him even with
