The North tower was hit at 8:46 am. Flight eleven was heading for Los Angeles. This plane crashed into floors 93-99 of the North tower, which had 110 floors in it. Everyone on the 91st floor lived, while everyone 92nd floor died. The only thing that separated these two floors was steel beams. The size of the stairwells allowed many to escape and therefore survive. In New York building codes required only two stair wells, each tower of the world trade center had three. Michael and Roselle worked on the 78th floor of tower one. Tower one is also known as the North tower. He and Roselle were sitting at their desk when they heard the tremendous crash. Roselle then led Micheal down 78 flights of stairs. Roselle was amazingly able to remain calm through the whole ordeal. Even after she got out she was still comforting Michael and others in any way possible. Before September 11 Michael and Roselle just worked a desk job.
