September 11, 2001 is a day that will be etched in the minds of Americans forever. On that day four airplanes were hijacked. Two planes were flown into the world trade center. One was flown into the Pentagon. The last one was headed to an unknown location and ended up crashing in a field in Pennsylvania. On flight eleven which was one of the planes flown into the world trade center. The second plane flown into the world trade center had sixty-six people aboard. Flight seventy-seven which was flown into the pentagon had sixty-four people aboard. The plane flight ninety-three had forty-four people aboard. Overall many lives were lost. We will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.(history.com)

The North tower was hit at 8:46 am. Flight eleven was heading for Los Angeles. This plane crashed into floors 93-99 of the North tower, which had 110 floors in it. Everyone on the 91st floor lived, while everyone 92nd floor died. The only thing that separated these two floors was steel beams. The size of the stairwells allowed many to escape and therefore survive. In New York building codes required only two stair wells, each tower of the world trade center had three. Michael and Roselle worked on the 78th floor of tower one. Tower one is also known as the North tower. He and Roselle were sitting at their desk when they heard the tremendous crash. Roselle then led Micheal down 78 flights of stairs. Roselle was amazingly able to remain calm through the whole ordeal.
