I only have limited time to figure out where I am, or else something bad is going to happen, I just know it. ‘How did I end up here?’ I think to myself. I cannot remember anything. The room is pitch black. I warily feel my surroundings, cautious of what is around me. ‘How did I end up here?’ I reiterate. Suddenly the room lights up and a scrawny man with a dour disposition appears. His gaping eyes stare blankly at me. “What’s your problem?” I ask. No response from the man. “Can you at least tell me what’s going on?” I question. Still no words from the stolid man. I begin to scream hoping someone will hear me and can help me to escape. Instantly he starts to talk, “There is no reason to shout”, he says “I’m here to help you and to give you advice. …show more content…
Who are “they”? “I saw you running from the government leaders. They kept calling you names and continued to gibe at you.” He continued, “As you were running you stumbled right in front of my house and hit your head on a rock from my rock garden. I was tentative in deciding whether or not, considering I’m risking my life right now, but obviously I helped you or else you wouldn’t be here right now.” I slightly recall what happened now. “Well thanks, I guess” I say, “but what do I do know? I can’t leave. The government is after me and they are bound to find me! They are an insidious group.” The man is confused, “Well we have 23 hours. We had 24 but you were resting so now we only have 23 hours.” ‘This man has to be insane’, I think to myself, ‘What in the world is he saying?’ “They dropped this letter.” He says. He reads the letter verbatim. It said something about how if they find me within 24 hours or less, they will let me go but if I’m found any time after I will be killed. It was signed King Sergio.
