They required us to pay taxes for every legal document, newspapers, letters, licenses even playing cards were taxed. The worst part was if we didn’t obey the act we were sent to vice admiralty courts. Though things shifted because we boycotted the them by repelling the act with The Sons of Liberty which our friend Sam Adams and some other Boston delegates created to put a stop to the act. They harassed stamp agents and customs workers and prevented the stamps from being sold and by 1765 we confronted the Stamp Act. Then Patrick Henry came along, he was represented by Virginia’s lower house and he stated that Virginians could only be taxed by their representatives this lead to other councils doing the same. Now I’m going to tell you why Loyalists are the worst, The Tea Act, The Boston Massacre, and The Boston Tea Party all three of these events were unsettling. This all started with the Boston Massacre, one of the reasons of the tension between us was the competition for jobs between us colonists and those poorly paid soldiers. Ridiculous right? I know, I know we should’ve just bought the cheaper tea but what more fun than to protest against them? If that wasn’t a big enough protest wait until I tell you about The Boston Tea Party, we dumped 18,000 pounds of the Indian tea into the Boston Harbor in our response to the outrageous Tea Act. Overall it was a great protest, they put something on us like that and we give them something to them back, taking their tea and putting it into the harbor, that’ll show
