The job I chose to research and would like to do was coaching and scouting. I chose this job because I’ve always liked sports, and I would like to eventually have my own club or be a coach somewhere to spread my knowledge of things I know and learned. There are certain skill and education qualifications needed to have or be a part of this job.
The number one degree most people get for this is a bachelor's degree. Some people chose to get an associate or a master’s degree. You should also be certified or at least complete mandatory education courses, and take classes related to sports safety and coaching fundamentals. There are a few everyday skills needed as well. Some of those skills are communication skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and decision-making skills. Coaches often have to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Some scouts work for organizations that deal directly with high school athletes. Coaches instruct or coach groups or individuals in sports, and show techniques and ways of participation. They also may work on athletes' strengths and weaknesses as possible recruits or improve their technique to prepare them for competition.
Along with a different work environment, they also work irregular hours than other jobs. They work 40 hours a week for several months or most of the year even during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Many high school coaches work part time and might have other jobs aside from coaching and scouting as well.
