Some people believe that watching wrestling and/or playing video games are a waste of time in the insane world that we live in, however, they don’t realize the service they provide to our society. Roland Barthes says that wrestling gives “intelligible representation of moral situations which are usually private” (Barthes 6). Both pastimes provide a service to society and even though they seem different on the surface, in reality they are closer than one would presume. In some cases, one can understandably wonder about a few things, such as how video games bring a service to society, or why games so popular, and just how gaming relates to wrestling. Hopefully some people can become aware of the services these forms of entertainment provide to the community. Many people around the world believe that video games are atrocious for a person's health. Well, apart from all the scientific evidence that denounces those beliefs and also say that they make a person a lot smarter, they also provide a service for us just like wrestling. With wrestling and its service of painting a picture of private matters in everyday life, gaming both being an art form created by as massive amount of people and as a setting for some of the biggest games since the super bowl.
