In the song ‘would it matter’ is a sad song, sung by the band Skillet which tells a story of someone suffering from anxiety and depression who feels hopeless and has thoughts of how worthless they are while having suicidal thoughts and wants to know would anyone care about them if something happened to them.

The main theme that is being portrayed in the song is depression and having suicidal thoughts, “I know I'm a mess and I wanna be someone, someone that I like better” they want to be different than who they are right now, someone without all of their imperfections and deadly thoughts holding them back from doing anything and never going to get better because of them. The person is wanting to know if anyone would care if they were gone “If I wasn't here tomorrow Would anybody care” it seems if they are looking for reassurance that they people would care if they left. When people are feeling suicidal they feel like it would be best if they were gone and no one would care so they take the easy route so they don't endure more pain by staying, I feel that the person has held on for so long and they are at breaking point from holding onto these thoughts of feeling like they don't matter. it takes a lot to make someone think these

I can relate to this song because I also have anxiety, depression and have the same suicidal thoughts every day in my life about how I don't matter and no one will care if I was gone and wanting to change who I am to get rid of all the imperfections, because of this it is slowly draining me and I may reach my breaking point if this carries on without me getting help to solve this. I “Don't wanna feel like this forever...forever” A lot of people in the world feel like this so it will relate to them in many ways as anxiety, depression and having suicidal thoughts are quite common in the

The Silent Killer Kid Cudi released the song Pursuit of Happiness on January 25, 2010, which is a part of his album Man on the Moon: The End of the Day. The song made its first television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman on September 12, 2009. Cudi’s album also consists of other popular songs including “Day N Nite”, “Soundtrack 2 My Life”, and “Man on the Moon.” Pursuit of Happiness comes across as a bright, cheerful song that is about living life in happiness, however the much deeper meaning in the lyrics headlines a man that is in a dark place who struggles to obtain contentment. The man masks the bleak truth with components such as alcohol and drugs, but never comes to realize that they will only cover up unhappiness for a small…

My Personal Playlist and Transcendental Justification Icarus, Bastille, 2011 I personally love this song simply because of the Greek Mythology reference, as well as the really cool entrance; and I think that transcendentalists might like it as well. My interpretation of this song is that it is talking about how young people search for happiness by doing dangerous and risky things (i.e. Icarus got excited and flew up towards the sun), that may lead to them getting hurt (the sun melting the wax off of Icarus’s wings and him falling to his death. Transcendentalists would like this interpretation, because they believe that although people try to bring happiness into their lives by relying on material things (ex. Drugs and Alcohol), this will never…

Everyone at some point of their lives has gone through situations where they find themselves continuously keeping certain things like: thoughts, their own needs, or even happiness in complete confinement. This is either for the sake of their own morals, selflessness for others own needs, or even just out of fear from what they want or desire being wrong. Edith Wharton once said, “The worst of doing one 's duty was that it apparently unfitted one for doing anything else,” which means that doing something or a task for someone else might cause the other person from doing what they truly want. The media perceives Taylor Swift as nothing more than a clingy, manipulative, and crazy young woman who jumps from relationship to relationship. Being the lyrical genius she is, Swift created the song "Blank Space" in 2014 to defend her position with this preconceived notion. She uses many rhetorical devices to explain her position in this argument against the media. With the beneficial use of rhetorical devices, Taylor Swift shows that boys will only stay if it is worth a fight, and that she is fully conscious of the media representation.…

If you didn’t know it was written about a child passing away you could interpret it as a breakup or a child growing up and moving out for the first time. It paints a portrait of someone absolutely trying to cope with a loved one not being around anymore. You feel the pain of someone trying to put away constant reminders of a loved one in an effort to heal. I wouldn’t say they are trying to forget about them completely, just moving the physical memories out of sight. The chorus of this song leaves so much open to interpretation that people have linked the lyrics to drug addiction and even chasing a relationship between two friends.…

Night Fever To start this off I want to say I choose and did this song before I started thinking about the song in psychology terms. I choose this song because I really like it and every other song that has played has been either really depressing or a song that no one has ever heard of before. This song makes me want to get up and dance even though I am awful at dancing. I think it would be really cool to experience a club like the one in the movie Saturday Night Fever because now a days clubs play loud techno music and not cool disco music.…

Foreword Before delving into the prescribed analysis as required by this assignment, I feel it necessary to provide some background as to why I chose this song as I could have seemingly chosen any other just as easily; however, throughout my troubled years, I found myself frequenting not only this song, but the entire album as well. In my younger years, back when i enjoyed the company of my older siblings on a daily basis before their departure to college, we all struggled in our dealings with our alcoholic, emotionally abusive father. Ironically, the broken bonds shared between my father, my siblings and I initiated the bittersweet genesis of the unbreakable bonds I am so lucky to share with each of my siblings. None, however, compare to the relationship my brother and I kindled out of the ashes of our house’s burnt and broken foundation.…
