Worth Reading The Gospel Of Luke

The reading Gospel of Luke, is a powerful reading that no matter your belief its worth reading. Someone who wasn’t raised in a church background I still find myself believing in God. When reading the gospel, I realized the power one holds when believing in God and his powers. One main thing in the story that I really enjoyed is when Simeon told Mary that Jesus will cause many people to fall and others to stand. This quote stood with me because I believe it to be true to the date.
Throughout the chapters I came to realize that through the belief of God people can do all things. For instance, when Abraham was going to kill his son because it was the word of God. It wasn’t until God realized how devoted Abraham was to him that he told him

The religious elements that relate to the battle of Jericho are based on the repeating notion that the Israelites must invade Jericho because through Jericho is the land that the Lord promised. “And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, "Shout! For the Lord has given you the city” (6:16). The Lord’s promise also marked Jericho and its occupancy as devotions for the Lord. “The city and all that is in it shall be devoted to the Lord for destruction.…

There are many problems with the Gospel of Judas as we see it today that makes it fit more in the Apocrypha than the canon of most modern sects of Christianity. It is undoubtedly (according to the evidence presented on National Geographic) an important, legitimate document of history. The first thing that stands out as to why the Gospel of Judas is not present in today’s Bible is the sheer volume of missing text. The Gospel of Judas is missing seemingly important lines all throughout the text. This itself could deter any community from making it authoritative.…

Within a society dominated by a hierarchical structure of riches and poverty, purity and defilement, and honor and shame, the message in Luke calls for a reversal of such values. Throughout his Gospel, Luke employs a plethora of literary techniques in Mary’s Song, Jesus’ initial Sermon, and the parables and stories of the Rich and the Kingdom of God, the Rich Fool, the Shrewd Manager, and The Rich Man and Lazarus in order to portray a theme of universality and to call followers to live simply and put aside material pursuits and worldly gains. Overall, discipleship to Jesus involves both a physical and metaphorical leveling of the playing field in front of the cross so that everyone has access to the kingdom of God.…

Abraham tells God “even if there are even a few innocents left in the city, God should not destroy them. ”(Reilly 2) Because Abraham followed his intellect and emotion, and didn 't just blindly follow God, he was able to stop the slaughter of thousands.
