A world view consists of assumptions that we have regarding reality and it effects the way that we evaluate, deal with, and respond to reality. It provides an approach to understanding God. According to Valk (2010), the Christian perspective, meaning, and purpose is grounded in the Creator God. The universe is here by purpose, not by accident. Additionally, what is wrong or right is not a matter of individual autonomous choice.
Ethical Practices #1 Business ethics is a conscious effort to treat people with respect and aspire to establish a positive working environment. Ethics are an important part of human existence and must be accounted for in any worldview. As part of my worldview, I believe that integrity is important in the work place. When I worked at a money order company as a teen, several employees were taking money orders that should have been voided or discarded and making them payable to themselves. This practice continued for quite some time. It seemed to be the popular thing to do and not get caught. I, however, could not participate in such an unethical manner. As conveyed by Connelly (2006), these issues impact our industry as a whole and keep principled companies at a disadvantage. Not only the company was disadvantaged but the employees were as well. Moreover, ethics are essential for any worldview that one may have. I feel that personal beliefs should impact all business ethic decisions. In addition, selfless service is about putting the needs and desires of others before themselves. I do that on a daily basis and it proved to pay off this year when I was choosen the Educational Support Person of The Year 2015-2016.
