World War II Was NOT Justified

World war 2 started in 1939 and ended 1945. There ended up being over 600,000 deaths including soldiers and civilians. After most of germany's allies surrendered Japan had been the only one left to do so. After they refused to surrender the united states dropped atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th and 9th. Japan then announced their surrender on August 15th. Some people would argue that the bombs were justified because they did what they had to do to end the war. Others would say it wasn't justified due to all of all the lives that were lost. The war crime against Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not justified. Japan was already beaten down and defeated. They had no more allies left and were under a naval blockade. The united states did not consider what the effects the bombs would have after they were launched. It was a horrific and unnecessary attack that did not limit the amount of casualties like they thought.
Citizen one believes that using atomic weapons was justified because it shortened the war and limited the amount of casualties. That could be true due to the Japaneses honor code, but citizen two didn't think about how selfish and wrong the bombings were. All the US wanted was dominice, power, and revenge. Although the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did end the war, it was not justified. They didn't care if Japanese people died as long as more American people survived. Japan was already under a naval blockade so they had no way in getting equipment and supplies through to japan. Further restriction would have forced their surrender seeing how they were already
