World War I, spanning from the 28th July 1914 to 11th November 1918, was one of the biggest international conflicts ever fought between two sides. Also known as The Great War, the First World War involved the pitting of two alliances made up of many worldwide nations: The Central Powers, consisting of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey, and the Allied Forces, made up of France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, and several others.
