Text one, a charity advertisement created by World Vision, displaying the lengthy walk that young children take every day to collect dirty water. The worldwide context is used to raise awareness for the children living in third world countries. It is clearly identified in the short film that World Vision is an organisation that have been shaped around supporting individuals that live with disadvantages and are exposed to horrific conditions on a daily basis. Text two, a leaflet published by the Salvation Army in relation to homeless people living on the streets in winter. The Australian context of this pamphlet is acknowledged through the website specified and the text saying, “Tonight, as many as 100,000 Australians will be homeless.” This charity is worldwide and has a Christian background. Through their Christianity upbringing they take pray requests from people living in underprivileged circumstances and underline how hope, purpose and fulfilment is obtainable for any being. An example that is clearly identified is that they both create the everyday person with a substantial lifestyle to feel remorse through the use of incorporating visuals of underprivileged individuals. However, World Vision are smart with the approach they take by using children to produce more of an emotional response from the parents viewing this video. A difference that is identified when comparing these two charities is that text one is targeting people living in third world conditions, whereas text two is recognising the people within Australia that are struggling to gain an affordable lifestyle. Each are effective in the way that they convey real life situations to an audience through using graphic images, colour and emotive text.
