It was owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which is port district that combined the New York state and New Jersey state to manage and administrate the transportation infrastructure in those two states. Before the attack the twin towers were a big attraction for tourist from all around the world, there were over 200,000 visitors a day that visit the World Trade Centers for business or for entertainment. The two towers were designed in a very creative way where they have an empty perimeter tube, and the shell of the building is the strongest structure that will hold the building together and to stand still against the wind and the other environmental impact on the building. Nineteen men got on commercial airplanes, like anyone else, but with vicious ideas. They knew they will not see the daylight again, neither their fellow passengers on that airplane. And near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 40 passengers and crew members aboard United Airlines Flight 93 died when the plane crashed into a field.
