In a world with countless viewpoints, defining wisdom can pose a challenge. While some wisdom shows truth universally, some wisdom can present itself as a problem of subjectivity. In the book The Chosen by Chaim Potok, the author uses this theme of wisdom to influence the protagonists of the story from the wisdom of two fathers. These fathers, however, differ in many key areas such as wisdom for life generally, wisdom in raising children, and wisdom for the world fraught with persecution of the Jews. Thus, the two children themselves must show wisdom in deciding which viewpoint shows validity.…

    1) One technology that has changed our sensory relationship with the world is automobiles. The automobile has changed everything in our world through our relationships to sensory, from the way people live all over the world, to our society such as family life, to the economy, and even the environment. Let's first look at a world before automobiles and for example our medieval peasant, let's say he needed to go into town, he would have had to use his wagon or horse and let’s say he couldn't afford either, he would have had to walk for many miles. Today things are much different because of the automobile I can get into my car and drive to the next town, which might take 45 minutes to an hour or even less. If I wanted to I can get in my car and drive to New Mexico and be there in a day where our medieval peasant it would take him a week or so to get there where he have bad blisters, and probably sun poisoning.…

I think that the people, government officials, and the society does understand history, but we may make some occasional mistakes and neglect some of these. I think most people try to use what they have learned as a guide. Most the things the people and society do are positive to our society. There are many things that we have improved upon with our history, such as racial discrimination, wage equality, and such ast things such as improving how the government functions and the divisions of the three branches are all signs of improvement. Changes in laws and additions to the law that correct mistakes made in history like violations of privacy, segregation, and so on have been fixed.…

When most people think of a history class they imagine sitting in a dark lecture hall taking notes off a PowerPoint presentation, memorizing a few dates and people, repeating it on the test. Truly studying history, I learned, is more than memorization of a previously told story and accepting it as true. In this class I have learned history is about actively engaging the material, picking apart the details and nuances, creating and using timelines, finding deeper meaning in the material, asking questions, then looking again and digging deeper. It is not a passive study and not about memorization as I believed at the beginning of the semester. History is about asking questions and looking for answers, not just accepting what is already there, but…
