World History Changes

The world today is rife with many problems. Innocent black people are being murdered and no justice is being held, women are raped and blamed for it, refugees are being refused access to safe environments, school shootings and bombings are happening daily, and horrible acts of terrorism are the reason for millions of innocent deaths. The world needs so much change for it to be fixed. Not to mention, many of the world’s most powerful people only care about money. As for the past, many horrible things have happened, for example, the World War II, 9/11, or the Holocaust. I wish for it not to have happened at all. However, if I was granted the power to go back and change one even in US or World History I wouldn’t make a change. The past is shoddy and horrible, but I wouldn’t change it. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Nazi Germany, World War II or I, 9/11, and many more. All of these events are so awful and bring up many powerful memories. These events have scarred the world with awful impacts. Also though, learning from these past experiences, awful indeed, has helped the world grow and prevent future problems synonymous to them. If the body is injured, it heals and is left with scar tissue. The wound is fixed, but a permanent reminder will remain forever. The scar serves as a learning experience to take better care and not repeat the mistake. This analogy is very juvenile, comparing the millions of deaths of people to a simple wound of one, but I’d rather believe it to be an extended metaphor. The world we live in today is one organism running its course, it has healing wounds and scar tissue. Some scars have faded and some are new, but they are still there, reminding us of the awful events our world has been stricken
