“The World According to Bensenhaver” was a very graphically inclined book written by Garp himself. This was Garp’s third novel that blew up way more than people thought it would. One of Jon Wolf’s (Garp’s publisher) employees Jillsy Sloper said the book was so disturbing she read it over and over again. She was so bothered by the book, but the plot and storyline interested her. Jillsy was right the book does keep you on edge when reading it. In “The World According to Bensenhaver” Garp wrote about a young women getting kidnapped and raped by a crazed farmer.
