I feel like there are lots of stakeholders that even I can’t identify. Because AARP has a four main entities, AARP Foundation, AARP Services, Legal Council for the Elderly and AARP Experience Corps. Each of these entities has very different work and different structure. But being at the part of the AARP foundation as a research intern, I feel AARP staffs, members, volunteers, service providers, vendors, insurance companies (who are using the AARP brand), and some federal organizations’ staffs (who are involved with AARP to conduct surveys driving federal rules and regulations) are the stakeholders of AARP. AARP works for older adults from community level to federal level. More briefly, some examples of community stakeholders of AARP are: Elected officials and key agency staffs, such as town or urban planner, the public work administrator, also assorted transportation representative, Metropolitan Planning Organization representatives, local voluntary non-profit service organizations and members of healthcare and fitness community. AARP engages all their stakeholders at the community level to find and implement livable community strategies. It works at the office level to make plans based on the stakeholders work evidence and follow up those with the mission statement as well as provide services. And with community works and surveys they make impact on national policies.
