The members for this class were all recruited by letter from source of their what their college major was. We only choose those that had a major of sociology, so any other majors were not chosen for this test that we were to …show more content…
The baseline tests a cross-word puzzle with ten words to be put into the puzzle. The next base line test was a grammar test of English sentences that had 5 sentences and they were asked to choose which words were spelled wrong. And the last base line test was a math test that had 10 questions of variation of different questions in math. While the results from the base line test was in variations some finished the test in a very fast amount of time while others took almost three times as much time. The quickest amount of time for the test to be done was 10 minutes while the longest amount was 26 minutes. With these results in hand we could move on to start the next three tests for a part of this experiment. Before we could move on with the experiment we asked each participant what they thought that their results would be. Because we did not tell them it was about distractions we just asked them if they would do good or bad and rating on a 1 bad to 10
