Overall Impression I feel that I did a good job seeing that it was my first time with this. I believe that I asked appropriate questions as well as responding to Mrs. D’s responses properly. I think that she enjoyed being able to explain what she went through to someone who was actively listening the entire time.
Strengths
I believe that I was good at reading Mrs. D’s non-verbal communication. Whether she was showing she was happy, frustrated or upset, I feel that I was able to read it well. I also feel that I did a nice job actively listening. Active listening is done by giving all of your attention to the individual you are conversing with and acknowledging that you care about what they have to say (Black, 2014).

When we fail to comply with certain standards, which are put in place by society we are often shunned from those who choose to comply with these values. After observing different social settings as well as the expected behavior in those settings I choose to focus my attention on ordering etiquette in fast food restaurants. In each of the fast food restaurants I observed in both the Hub and along downtown East College Avenue I noticed three elements of expected behavior. The first was to place an order to your cashier in first person. The second, consumers were expected to pay for their purchases.…

Title of Paper Amber R. I am writing due to recent issues with the County’s supportive staff for IHSS AC. In the past staff was always extremely helpful and routinely went beyond and above expectations. One thing that could alway be counted on is the ability to get the agenda and minutes out a little early so members had time to review everything (if only members actually took the time to actually review the material). As you are probably aware, I asked Diana Kenderian to take over responsibility of working with the staff on approving the agenda since my responsibilities as well as educational pursuits started causing delays in approving the agenda. Until last month (July) I can't recall the committee ever needing to cancel a meeting due to the agenda not being posted withing the manditory 72 hours prior to the meeting.…

In counselling, relationships are very important. These relationships between the counsellor and the client are determined by the time and effort we put into developing and maintaining this relationship. In a way, a counsellor is a friend, but a friend who has the experience and the ability to apply different skills to assist people to solve their own problem instead of providing them with a solution. Self-evaluation is very useful to identify the strengths and weaknesses of these skills. The purpose of my self-evaluation is to reflect upon the used/unused skills which I applied by identifying areas where they have been used successfully and others that needs improvement.…

To understand what another person is communicating when they speak takes more than listening with our ears. It is important to know, if we pay attention to the non-verbal cues, we can have a deeper understanding of all that is being said. To practice reading the non-verbal body language, I began to observe people and on one occasion, I was with my girlfriend eating dinner on a weekday after work. We had decided to go to the Santa Anita Mall and eat at The Cheesecake Factory.…
