In Chapter 12, I have learned that in 1992, Andre Adams, a BBC journalist, coined the term workplace bullying, describing an ongoing harassing workplace behavior between employees, which results in negative health outcome for the targeted employees (Adams, 1992). Workplace bullying is receiving increased attention worldwide as a negative organization issue. It is considered a serious and chronic workplace stress or that can lead to diminished work productivity and work equality (Hoel, Faragher, & Cooper, 2004)
There are two federal laws that can be applied workplace bullying. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Under the OSHA Act of 1970, it states that employers must provide
