Workplace Bullying According To Wiedmer's Article

According to Wiedmer (2010), workplace bullying a pervasive practice orchestrated and propagated by individuals who are maliciously seeking power, control, subjugation and domination. It is an inefficient way of working, which is both costly and preventable. In his article, Wiedmer describes the damage, signs and preventative measures concerning workplace bullying. She profoundly elaborates bullying, and what workplace bullying is all about. Wiedmer further provides in the article the statistics of workplace bullying; how prevalent workplace bullying, the individuals likely to fall victims, different ways of bullying at workplace, and the techniques that can be utilized to prevent bullying. Wiedmer argues that workplace can be stopped if the employees and the employers put in concerted effort to ensure there is promotion health culture in the workplace, input and policy changes that which do not condone bullying. In her article, she infers that employees should experience an aura of the organization supporting them by having written policies that guide leadership of the company and ensure they are up to date on any policies appertaining bullying at workplace …show more content…
These bullying practices are exhaustive and detrimental to the victims. Therefore, all the organizations in effort to end and/or deter occurrence of workplace bullying, should focus on defining and setting expectations about it, train their employees on what they can do to prevent bullying and address it if they see it occurring, and more importantly, the organizations should have a No Bullying Policy. This will ensure a healthy workplace environment that employees feel appreciated and understood and hence, elevating their trust on the organization and improve on their performance as implied by Real Arts Media
