Organizations and institutions in recruit employees use various assessment methods. Some are task based while others are based on knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA). These methods are applicable for recruiting employees from the institutions and outside the institutions. In this paper the reasons for choosing KSA based method is discussed by use of the different tests. This results in the identification of different skills that include the innovative skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership skills. The leadership skills are discussed in detail.
Every candidate should be prepared to show leadership skills. These include; possession of perfect communication skills should have a vision for the team,

Some of these characteristics are experienced at WestJet. These are seen in their definitions for their values among which are; being fun and caring for the customers, having interests similar to those of the company which simply means keeping the goals of the company (Wright, 2010). WestJet also enjoys the high sales due to its unique vibrant culture of growth and thus pose a challenge to the leadership that comes. Therefore, due to the increase in size of the company there is need to look for competent employees or educate and train the existing one managers who can be able to cope with the size and any requirement for the job. The WestJet human resource strategy includes a sponsor who mentors WestJetters mainly those that are new. This is done through the teaching such that they can learn more about the company within the shortest time possible. Moreover, the WestJet employees are given freedom of limited supervision, which gives the employees a sense of belonging in the company (Wright, 2010).
