Anaerobic and aerobic exercise were determined to effectively influence muscle oxygen uptake at the cellular level. Evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of the two types of exercise on oxygen uptake would inform the advantages and disadvantages they have on muscles. Significant amounts of oxygen are consumed by the human muscles when moderate intensity aerobic work is performed. Contradictorily, anaerobic exercise causes the body to break down stored glycogen in muscles for energy. Therefore, oxygen availability, biological factors, and exercise intensity are factors contributing to muscle oxygen uptake.…
Don’t be afraid…because the Lord your God is with you. He will not fail you or leave you, (Deuteronomy 31:6, Easy to Read Version).” On the other hand, you mentioned, “time management”, yes, it can be a struggle sometimes, however, it is possible to get it all under control. A few things that help…
My sport hasn’t started season, yet I feel that there is no room for personal time. I wake up at 5 am to go to a 2-hour morning practice, then to an hour of weights and I have to rush to class everyday. When I am finally done with tennis related activities and classes, I have to go to tutoring appointments and start my homework right away, so I can go to bed at a decent time to be able to wake up early in the morning and restart my routine all over again. With my hectic schedule, I am constantly hopping from one place to another, hardly having any time to stop and have a conversation with a friend or sit down to eat a whole meal without the feeling that I need to go somewhere else. I am always tired, I have to get a decent amount of sleep, give my best effort in my sport and trying to keep up with school work.…
The ability for muscles to contract and shorten to produce movement lies within its structure at a cellular level. The muscle organ is surrounded by a fibrous connective tissue called the epimysium, continuous to the perimysium, which separates the organ into small bundles called fascicles. Each fascicle can be further separated into muscle fibers by the endomysium. The plasma membrane of an individual muscle fiber is called the sarcolemma, which plays a major role in generating an action along the fiber. The contractile element of a muscle lies within the myofibril, a smaller component of the muscle fiber.…
during exercise your muscles contract meaning that they will be using up glucose, therefore blood glucose level needs to be maintained . Negative feedback will then increase the blood glucose level by secreting glucagon (alpha cells in pancreas) this will then make the liver to convert glycogen into glucose, which will then be released and absorbed by cells. breathing rate and heart rate will increase to keep up with the demand of oxygen of your muscles and also in order to remove the larger amount of carbon dioxide that is being…
The article I chose, Gym Workouts: Simple Cardio and Weight-Lifting Plans. The opening statement sure hit the nail on the head. Its incredible how often I have gone to the gym only to walk away and move on due to people’s lack of consideration for others when waiting for the cardio equipment. The article states several times, if the equipment’s busy don’t waste time, go back later.…
Interval training burns three times the amount of body fat than conventional exercise. Interval training consists of random spurts with high-intensity movements followed by low-intensity movements. 20 to 30 minutes of High intensity interval training three times a week burns body fat, boost metabolism, improve endurance and speed along with cardiovascular health. Different forms of exercise, such as, running, walking, swimming, strength training and cycling could translate into interval training. The rule for intervals involves repeatedly exercising at a high intensity pace for 30 to 60 seconds to several minutes, separated by 1 to 5 minutes of recovery which would be a low intensity pace.…
Is The Exercise time related to the number of Study hours? Research Question: Is there a relationship between how many hours I exercise each and how many hours I study? Hypothesis: I have noticed that when I exercise I often study more. Therefore, I predict that there is a positive correlation between how many hours I exercise each day and how many hours I study.…
Discuss fitness tests or methods of evaluation that should be used to assess the client, providing rationale for your recommendations. Be sure to address the specific conditions presented by your client. It will be important to consider that his body is still going through puberty when designing a program for him. This offers a great opportunity to encourage him though, as this is when he can set up what the status quo will be for his adult life regarding his physical fitness and overall health. CARDIO Swimming test, if available, would be preferable.…
We have all been in that unfortunate situation. The one where you want to speak out, but can't muster up the courage. How do you feel in that moment? Do you feel worthless, unimportant and invalid? When that moment comes why do you not push past your fear and speak out?…
Field Observation KINE 100-008 Throughout this paper, I will be summarizing both my observation and interview with a personal trainer at Tysons Sport&Health. The reason I chose to interview a personal trainer is because becoming a personal trainer is the next step in my career path. This allowed me to get an inside look on how business runs and what kind of environment I will be working in. I gained a great insight into how much time and effort is put in outside of training clients in order to make sure business is running smoothly and there is a continuous stream of clients. The professional I observed is Devon Jones, he is a personal trainer and the Explosive Performance program director for Tysons Sport&Health.…
Sorry for the lack of posts recently- I had my wisdom teeth taken out and it took a huge toll on me! I was extremely sensitive to the pain medication so I slept about 20 out of the 24 hours in a day… I’m still recovering and have stitches in my mouth that will be taken out in the near future. But until then, I’ll be living off of soup and mashed sweet potatoes!…
This video was about physical activity and the effect it has on preschoolers and their cognitive abilities. Dr. Darren Robert believes physical education is vital to preschool learning. He talked about different “rules” when trying to incorporate physical activity with such a young age group. First off, he talked about safety; if a preschooler gets hurt while being physically active they might be turned off to it in the future. The exercise needs to be developmentally, age, and individually appropriate to provide different opportunities for the kids to grow and be able to explore their bodies.…
I am at a decreased risk for cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and osteoporosis because I exercise the recommended amount of 3 to 5 times a week for 30 minutes or longer. My recommended calorie intake is between 1310 and 1660 a day and my intake was 1457, which helps me stay in a healthy weight range for my height and age. My total carb intake was 196 and the recommended amount was 147-270. My fiber intake was 25 and recommended is 25-35, this is a concern and means that I need to make sure that I don’t go below my recommended fiber amount to prevent CV disease and cancer. My fat intake was 56 and the recommended amount was 29-65, which helps me prevent CV disease, cancer and diabetes.…
In my first semester here at High Point University I have learned a few lessons in The President’s Seminar that will help me throughout the rest of my life. In all of those lessons that were given the two that stuck with me; how to create an effective presentation and how to manage my time. While attending these lessons I have learned ways to make my life more successful. I believe that these lessons will stick with me and help me in my future jobs. When you are giving a presentation you must have confidence and you shouldn’t be scared or be embarrassed to be in front of people.…
