Again it helps their social, emotional, psychological and intellectual or cognitive development. Working with a child one to one allows lessons to be customised for a child’s needs. This is especially important if a child has leaning difficulties or has just fallen behind. Working one to one can enable them to reach their targets or milestones and give them confidence to work independently, to make choices, take risks and even attempt activities. Working with children as individuals enables children to choose the work that interests them which increases their motivation and confidence. It can give them greater awareness of their limitations but it also increases their ability to manage them. Working one to one encourages them to set their own goals and enables them to talk aloud about how they are learning. They can be encouraged to ask others for help but are also encouraged to learn by themselves. Working one to one with a child allows them to concentrate and focus on the task at hand. It enables them to learn the basic skills and have the confidence to use them, before advancing to more complex tasks. This will then give a child the experience they need for healthy social, psychological and cognitive development.
Therefore, there are benefits of working with children in groups and on a one to one basis, as both strategies help with their social, emotional, psychological and intellectual or cognitive development.
