Woodworking is one of the most common do-it-yourself activities people love to do at home. They will no doubt feel a great sense of achievement when being able to make or repair their own furniture, starting from basic to complicated items. To be able to do so, they need the right tools. In fact, it is probably one of the most dangerous tools you have in your house, no matter how versatile it is. There is a high chance of kickback with a powerful 10” blade spinning right towards you during the cutting process.
That is not to say that you have no chance of getting your finger cut with a band saw. However, the blade of a band saw does not move towards you during its operation so the chance of kickback is far less likely. It also produces less dust.

A band saw does not require a lot of workspace; you can just put it against the wall if you want. A table saw works more efficiently when you leave room from all sides for operation.
