Working Out Survey

assignment 2:

In this assignment, I have created a survey that mostly asks about working out by my Omanis friends who are in college either in the United states or back home Oman. I have chosen this topic because I really like working out, spend at least three hours a day on the gym and believing of the healthy benefits that body could get from that, but I think that a lot of students do not have time for working out. Therefore, I created that survey to find out how my friends are interested on doing exercise and how do they feel about themselves on the working out perspective. The survey was shared through a web link from Survey monkey website to social media apps like What’s Up, Facebook, and even on Instagram. the responses are voluntary because the responders were given the option to whether do the survey or not. Overall, I have got 35 responses.

My survey had only three questions, which made it so easy for the responders to take. The first question was a multiple choice question that only has two answers, yes or know asking about if they do work out. The question was “ do you work out?”. I was really amazed of what I got on the results because 13 out of 35 responders do not work out, which is about 37.14%. It is amazing because the percentage shows that more than the quarter of them does not really care about their exercise

the question was “ what is the best time for you to work out during the day?”. i actually got only 26 responds for this question out of the 35. the results came as 8 students (30.77%) chose morning hours, 4 students (15.38%) works out during the hors between 12-6 PM, and 12 responders (46.15%) works during the hours from 7 PM to late night. Also I got two responds (7.69%) that they do not have a specific time during the day to work out. it is obvious that most of the students like to work out through the night

While conducting this research, one of the two components for it, is why there’s a lack of physical exercise among the Latino community. Previous research has been done on this topic Bull et al.., 2006). That showed that Latino who are low income do have a lack of physical exercise because they’re not well informed about what type of physical exercise they can do, also a lot of them can’t afford to pay a gym membership. In addition, even if they want to do physical exercise at their home or park near home is hard because the areas they live in are not the safest that’s why they rather stay inside their home to avoid getting in trouble. There also has been other similar research like the one from (Pekmezi et al.., 2010) that want to promote…

In the beginning, we lost a couple of survey results because we forgot to check the surveys and how to fill them in properly. In the future, we should double check that the survey is working to prevent losing data. Something that went well was that the survey takers did not eat the samples and just leave. They were thoroughly engaged with the activity and took into consideration of all the different qualities we asked them to concentrate on. Another thing that we could’ve done differently was to put the surveys near the samples so the responders could remember which one they ate.…

The article that I found interesting and it is related to my topic is “Immigrant Environmental Behaviors in New York City” by Max J. Pfeffer and J. Mayone Stycos, Cornell University. The goal of the research is to compare environmental behaviors of immigrants and the native born to answer questions about potential impacts of immigration in the US environment. I chose this article because it awakes another topic in the already problematic social issue called immigration which most of the people has discuss about it. I believe this is awaking an idea from the no-immigrants trying to blame the environment contamination on immigrants besides.…

In the research article written by Maureen O’ Dougherty and her colleagues depicts women before and after an exercise intervention. The reason this study was implemented to determine if sedentary women after the exercise intervention would remain physically active through the self-determination theory. This theory expanded on the reasoning behind motivation and cultural trends and how it developed women exercise habits, whether it be frequently or not at all. It is known that regular physical activity at the moderate level can decrease activity, but the fact that women have a low level of physical activity prompted this study. Coming into the study there was little known about motivators for physical activity for women or how these motivators…

Primary Research Report: Survey I conducted a survey on fitness to get an approximate representation how many people incorporate fitness into their weekly lives, to understand the public’s idea of an optimal fitness lifestyle, and to see what physique people expect from a possible romantic partner. I started my survey by asking participants if they incorporated fitness into their lifestyle. If they said yes, I asked for how long per session, and if they said no, asked them why not. The next thing I wanted to know is what people think about the general population in fitness. I asked them questions like what helps differentiate an experienced fitness person from the average joe, and what percentage of people they thought participated in physical activity at least once per week.…

The Social Psychology of Exercise Adherence According to Seguin (2010), exercise is defined as exerting physical effort to maintain or improve health and fitness. It is truly a remarkable concept in life, as it allows an individual to take control of personal health and wellbeing. Exercise compiled with a little bit of commitment to leading a better dietary lifestyle can produce amazing physical results, but more importantly incredible psychological results as well. The phrase, “you look good, you feel good” has been thrown around for years, but in fact there is proof through research that backs this up with direct correlation to exercise.…
