Personal Narrative-Time College Student

Time management has never been a skill that I have been particularly successful with, not when I was a high school student and even now as a full-time college student. During high school, I was constantly completing important projects or assignments at the last possible moment and working on things without planning out the time it would take. But now, as a college student, it has been stressed to me how important time and energy management skills are if I want to work more efficiently. While working on time management action plans, I found that scheduling out important activities and assignments seemed to be the most helpful for me. The first action plan that I decided to work on was developing a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule of all of my personal and academic activities. For my academic schedule, I first added all of the classes I am taking this semester to my Google Calendar with their specific course titles, times, locations, and professors. Then, I color-coded my courses for this semester in lavender and set them to reset weekly until the last day of classes so that they could be more manageable and easier to keep track of. But due to my unfortunate tendency to work on assignments when I feel like it instead of planning them out, I think that using this method of time management will be more beneficial for me in the long run. Another detail that I noticed was that adding all of my assignments to a calendar and looking at them from a weekly and monthly perspective illustrated to me that I am not using my time wisely, planning effectively, and doing as much work as I should be so that I do not struggle unnecessarily. Ultimately, this action plan was helpful in highlighting that it is possible to complete the assignments given to me without excessive levels of stress if I follow my new
